ARMAAN - Maternal Health
Description
The MMITRA – ARMMAN – Maternal Health (ANC/PNC) Program supports pregnant women, new mothers, and adolescent girls through technology-enabled health awareness. JVS works with ARMMAN to provide timely medical information, voice-call reminders, and counselling for safe pregnancy, delivery, newborn care, and menstrual hygiene management.
Through this program, women and adolescent girls receive guidance on:
Antenatal check-ups
Nutrition during pregnancy
Warning signs & risk factors
Post-natal care (PNC)
Immunization reminders
Breastfeeding & newborn health
Menstrual hygiene awareness, safe use of sanitary pads, and importance of regular hygiene practices
Access to affordable, quality sanitary napkins and breaking taboos around menstruation
This integrated service ensures that mothers and young girls—especially from vulnerable, low-income communities—stay informed, maintain proper menstrual hygiene, and seek healthcare at the right time. The program effectively bridges gaps caused by limited access, low awareness, menstrual stigma, and inadequate healthcare facilities, contributing to improved overall health and well-being.
