Child Rights Program
Description
The Child Rights Program of JVS is a long-term community initiative implemented in the vulnerable areas of Chikuwadi and Mandala, Mankhurd, in partnership with CRY – Child Rights and You.
The program focuses on ensuring that children grow up in a safe, healthy, and supportive environment, with access to their fundamental rights.
Through sustained community engagement, JVS works closely with parents, teachers, civic bodies, and children to address issues such as school dropouts, child labour, early marriage, malnutrition, abuse prevention, and lack of documentation.
Key Activities Include:
✔ Door-to-door awareness visits
✔ Street plays, rallies & public campaigns
✔ Counselling for children and parents
✔ Enrolment of out-of-school children
✔ Monitoring of child safety & protection cases
✔ Supporting children’s health, immunization & education
✔ Capacity building for youth & community leaders
