Rainwater Harvesting Project

Rainwater Harvesting Project

Sustainable Water Solutions for Rural Families

Rainwater Harvesting Project

Description

The Rainwater Harvesting Project by Janjagruti Vidyarthi Sangh (JVS) is a major Rural Development initiative focused on solving long-standing water shortages faced by rural, tribal and farming communities in Raigad district and Tukaramwadi.

Through a combination of rooftop collection systems, storage tanks, and groundwater recharge structures, the project ensures year-round availability of clean water for drinking, farming, and household needs.

This initiative has drastically improved the quality of life for families who previously depended on long walks, unsafe wells, or seasonal sources for water. Today, the community enjoys reliable water access, better sanitation, and improved agricultural practices.

The project is carried out with strong community involvement, encouraging local participation in construction, maintenance, and monitoring. This ensures long-term sustainability long after project completion.
