Skill Development – Tailoring Program
Description
The Skill Development – Tailoring Program is one of JVS’s core livelihood initiatives designed to empower women and youth from marginalized communities. Through hands-on training, participants learn practical tailoring skills that help them generate income, support their families, and move towards financial independence.
The training includes:
Basic & advanced stitching
Machine handling & maintenance
Cutting, measurement & pattern making
Blouse, dress, and uniform stitching
Soft skill sessions on confidence & communication
- Denim productsm regular and designer Quilts
Our trainers work closely with each participant to ensure they gain the knowledge and confidence needed to start home-based tailoring, find employment, or set up small stitching units.
Impact
- This program has successfully supported hundreds of women across Mumbai and Pune, enabling them to earn dignified livelihoods. Many trainees now contribute to their household income, making this one of JVS’s most impactful livelihood initiatives.
